Greetings IRCNow offtopic, In the 1900s, there was a debate between Booker T Washington and WEB Du Bois about how to best educate African Americans. Washington promoted practical trades like construction and farming and temporary segregation (Atlanta Compromise), while Du Bois wanted more political rights and to promote a liberal arts education to raise the "Talented Tenth". Which was the best approach to educate emancipated blacks in America? Why? -- Aaron Lin jrmu@xxxxxxxxxx IRCNow (https://ircnow.org)
